THE RISING call for artwork!
“The Rising” Arts festival taking place May 30th, 2014 inside
Little Village Lawndale high school is now accepting artwork for
displayed. The due date for submissions is May 20th, 2014.
ELIGIBILITY
Participants must work, study, or reside in the Little Village or North Lawndale community.
ARTWORK SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
We are only accepting submissions of original artwork. Submissions can be paintings,
photographs, poetry, videos, etc. The work must illustrate one of the following themes, “ Life,
Community, or unity ” You are allowed to enter two pieces of artwork for each theme.
DEADLINE is May 20th, 2014. No late submissions will be accepted. (Unless plans were
made ahead of time, then a digital image in the form of a JPEG file must be e-mailed by 11:59
pm May 20th, 2014 accompanied with the information listed below).
All artwork must be accompanied with the artist name, address, email, and phone number.
A description of the artwork including dimensions, medium and title clearly printed on a label
alongside the artwork. A short artist biography is optional. As artwork often gets separated from
instructions, we ask that you sign your artwork.
For collaborative projects, it is the responsibility of the submitting artist to obtain
permission from each participant prior to submission. In addition, attach individual instructions to
each piece of artwork. Please be aware that the collaborative project in its entirety will only be
returned to the submitting artist.
Note: All artwork must be prepared for display.
Artwork without proper identification will not be considered. Please keep a copy of
your instructions.
Artwork must be brought to the Enlace office at Little Village
Lawndale High School, address: 3120 South Kostner Avenue,
Chicago, IL 60623 during the hours of 10am-6pm.
