CLAÜ (she/her/ella/ellas) | YolloLab has open studio days and workshop days!
YolloLab open studio days encourage youth to join and make ART! Here you are free to draw, create, and make art on your own! We have drawing and painting supplies available to use for FREE! Create art, focus on your personal projects and learn from others in the space. You do not need to register or sign up to come in and use the space.

NOTE: Specific access to materials or machines is limited or not available. We will have workshop days available in the future that will require sign up. STREET ART STUDIO
Street Art Studio- Visual Art Applied to Public Art Projects
Mario Mena | ‘Street Art Studio’ program participants explore a variety of street art styles, looking at work created by local, Chicago-based visual artists. Participants learn the historical context of diverse street art aesthetics through documentaries, photographs, field trips, and conversations with guest artists. Teens will explore art activism, protest art, and art with intention to create positive change within a context.
Additionally, teens create their own style and learn techniques such as wheat pasting, sticker making, graffiti lettering and mural making. During the session, teens will visit galleries, design and complete a mural within the community, and explore artwork in public spaces throughout the city.

GRAFFITI MURAL PROJECT
Graffiti Mural Project- History, Culture, Creation of Public Art
Liz ‘Bel’ Reyes | ‘Graffiti Mural Project’ program participants work alongside a local graffiti artist to develop their own graffiti letters and style. Throughout the session, participants will learn about graffiti mural making, watch documentaries and read text related to the art form. Teens will work individually and collaboratively on projects such as sticker making, canvas paintings; learning and developing graffiti letter styles and techniques through the use of markers, acrylics, and spray paint.

Funky Foto- A Visual Narrative Through Photography
TBD | Calling all funky photographers! 📸 Funk Camera Flex participants are taught alternative process and experimental photography skills such as camera obscura, cyanotypes, among others. Participants will also learn about digital cameras, studio equipment, and advanced photo/video editing software such as Adobe Photoshop. Throughout the session, teens will visit galleries, explore museums, have conversations with guest artists, and develop their own style of capturing images.

Whitney Ross | Spend your time snacking and planning with us for our Yollo Art Market and Chill Set/Teen Night. Part Party Planning Committee, part prop making, part snack club… Join us & contribute to the age old debate: Takis or hot Cheetos?

Sonic Vibes- Radio & Video Series of Live Music
Charly Garcia & Emmanuel Ramirez | Sonic Vibes participants will become radio and live streaming production experts! They will engage in different interview approaches, learning how to interview local and international artists. Participants will have hands on experience with behind the scenes magic of live streaming, radio, and music. During the session teens will visit spaces and speak with special guests and artists; learning from their knowledge and experience with live streaming and radio. They will then use their gained knowledge and creativity to create fun and engaging radio and live streaming content that will be shared through the platforms Lumpen Radio and Lumpen TV.

August Abitang & Brian Cruz | Have something to say? Gain hands-on technical experience in script & creative writing, produce your own audio story, become an indie reporter, learn audio & radio production, and hear yourself LIVE on the radio!
